A NOLIJETTE REFLECTS ON HER EXPERIENCE IN THE 2019 NICE-CANNES RELAY MARATHON…
ANNE-SOPHIE TELLS YOU ABOUT HER MAGNIFICENT ADVENTURE AS A NOLIJETTE AT THE MARATHON AZURÉEN…
MY NICE – CANNES 2019 RELAY MARATHON IN NOLIJU
The adventure began a few months ago. Through my favorite fitness instructor, I met a really nice woman named Norah. We hit it off, and she introduced me to her brand of Trendy "activewear" clothing : NOLIJU .
We are neighbors and we run together when our respective schedules coincide.
Then, Cathy (my favorite fitness instructor) tells me that Norah is going to enter 3 relay teams for the Nice-Cannes Marathon and suggests I participate.
And why not? It could be fun.
I accepted immediately and equipped myself for the occasion with a superb Arnold black tank top . The fabric is French (technical and breathable) and wicks away perspiration during exercise. The fluid material is very comfortable.
I'm so excited!!! I'm going to look amazing in NOLIJU for the Marathon!
Time passes, and then marathon weekend approaches. The weather is dreadful!!!
I confess that my motivation is at zero. No desire, too lazy, running 9.3 km in the rain… pffff but well, no choice, a committed team is 6 people so 5 other people are counting on me.
So let's go, let's get motivated, and anyway there's no other choice…
A WhatsApp group is created: Marathon – Nolijettes and then the messages start pouring in….
I no longer feel alone and the interactions are revitalizing me.
Saturday night into Sunday morning was absolute horror. There was a terrible storm, the thunder kept me awake, and the pressure was mounting.
My alarm rings after a far too short night, my phone rings too.
" Where are you ? "
"Uh, in my bed, I just woke up."
"Well, take your time, the departure is delayed until 10:00."
"OK"
Then I log into the group. 50 unread messages… Some Nolijettes are struggling in the rain, soaked to the bone.
Then the radio finally announces a departure at 8:30 am.
Hurry, I'm cycling to the station in the rain. Then I'll head to my relay point in St Laurent-Du-Var, more motivated than ever because the other Nolijettes have done a great job even in the rain, and I'm determined to make it work!
I quickly saw a photo on WhatsApp of Valérie (she has glasses), she is the one who is supposed to give me the chip at the relay.
She arrives, I don't know her but I hug her before leaving (she struggled a lot in the rain and almost missed the start).
I start my race in " run forest , run" mode... I get caught in 2 good downpours but I'm doing well and the Nolijettes are counting on me!
My race is going wonderfully thanks to Cathy's great training and I'm passing the baton to Stéphanie in Villeneuve Loubet!! I encourage her then turn around towards the station.
The Nolijettes arranged to meet in Cannes but I'm soaked and I decide to go home to take a nice hot bath.
I am really happy to have shared this adventure/race with 17 other girls, each one cooler than the last.
Thanks to their determination, I had a great time despite many uncertainties.
It actually fits quite well with Norah's brand philosophy: "No Limits, Just U!" and we could add for the Nolijettes' Nice-Cannes marathon: "No Limits, Just Us together!"
