The values of noliju

From the very beginning of Noliju, it became essential for us to offer quality clothing with a meaning ethics strong.
That's why we wanted all production to be done exclusively in Europe .

Textiles and Clothing

To go further, we have decided to choose only fabrics that also come from the European Union.
Noliju is very proud today to be able to count many French fabrics in its collections.

These choices allow us to offer high- quality products, both in terms of materials, whose origin we control, and in terms of manufacturing with impeccable finishes . We work with reliable and certified partners who guarantee not only product quality but also respect for working conditions .
It is also a way for us to have greater responsiveness and shorter delivery times.

Our eco-responsible approach

The importance of ecology in our society is a subject that is at the heart of our concerns; our consumption is therefore becoming more and more thoughtful in order to protect our environment and our future.

At Noliju , we use several approaches to contribute our part.

Local manufacturing and sourcing, the versatility and durability of our products, and finally the integration of recycled or bio-based materials into our manufacturing process.

Local manufacturing and sourcing

Since its inception, Noliju has always been committed to an eco-responsible approach, starting with the selection of our fabric suppliers and manufacturing workshops. We wanted our fabric manufacturers and production facilities to be as close as possible to our headquarters on the French Riviera. This allowed us to use road transport rather than air freight, significantly reducing our carbon footprint thanks to the short distances involved in transporting our raw materials to our workshop and then the finished products to our Riviera headquarters. We then handle the shipping of your packages ourselves, directly from our headquarters. This way, we minimize the environmental impact generated by the much more polluting modes of transport traditionally used by the fast fashion industry.

Finally, choosing these local suppliers also allows us to get to know our partners better and thus guarantee respect for employee rights and the quality of the work provided.

Regarding the manufacturing process, after much research we selected several workshops in Portugal, a country known and recognized for the quality of its work in the manufacture of technical textile pieces.

For our brand's accessories, we have chosen French workshops located mainly in the Pays de la Loire region, at an ideal distance from our headquarters.

Our factory in Portugal

Then, for the choice of fabrics, we wanted them to also come from the European Union. We are fortunate to have brilliant fabric manufacturers in France and Italy who offer high-end, increasingly innovative materials, and that is why we opted primarily for French fabric suppliers in the Rhône-Alpes region and Italian suppliers in Lombardy.

Producing technical, eco-responsible clothing in France and Portugal with premium French and Italian fabrics allows us to offer high-quality products at a fair price, which incorporates social and environmental costs.

This is our first responsible step towards a more sustainable and green fashion industry.

Thus, our Aventurier swimsuit, the flagship piece of our last season, was entirely made from recycled fabric sourced from old fishing nets recovered from the Mediterranean Sea. To achieve this, we worked closely with our Italian supplier and employed a recycled polyamide woven from Econyl fiber.

Econyl is a 100% recycled and recyclable nylon fiber made from plastic waste collected from landfills and oceans.

It is an ecological alternative to nylon, which helps to limit air pollution and pollution of aquatic ecosystems.

Indeed, to produce this fiber, it is necessary to recover fishing nets abandoned at sea, which represent 10% of the polluting waste on the ocean floor, as well as bottles, industrial plastic, and fabric scraps. This waste is retrieved, cleaned, and recycled to extract as much nylon as possible. Through a regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled back to its original form and transformed into a new textile yarn, Econyl. This fiber will be used to manufacture a new garment that is recycled and recyclable at the end of its life.

Finally, it is important to point out that the technical properties of this fiber are the same as traditional polyamide, with excellent elasticity and strength.

Therefore, products made from this fiber are perfectly suited for everyday or sports use. #NolimitJustu

At our level and to give a concrete example, thanks to the production of our Aventurier swimsuits, we have avoided the unnecessary consumption of 369 barrels of oil and 296 tons of CO2.

In conclusion, Econyl fiber is much less energy-intensive; it saves 80% of greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin nylon.

For the Noliju technical t-shirts in the winter 2020 collection, we have this time called upon our French partner to use the certified "Newlife" concept which allows us to create a recycled polyester from a fiber made exclusively from the recycling of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles, the material which makes up all of our plastic mineral water bottles.

Thanks to the production of these new T-shirts, we have enabled the reuse and recycling of the equivalent of 1140 plastic bottles #nolimitjustU

Since last season, we've also incorporated natural materials like organic cotton into the production of our iconic T-shirt featuring our mantra, "NoLimitJustU." Cotton is currently a very water-intensive crop, requiring significant amounts of pesticides. By choosing organic cotton, we're opting for a raw material grown without fertilizers and chemicals, and with less water.

Finally, the majority of our technical fabrics are Oeko-Tex certified, meaning they are free of substances harmful to the skin and the environment. Ultimately, we aim for all the fabrics we select to be recycled or bio-based and to systematically carry Oeko-Tex certification.

Versatile and durable products designed for you

This eco-responsible approach also guided us in designing our collections, with pieces designed to be versatile and suitable for a variety of situations. Indeed, the lines between the worlds of sport and fashion are increasingly blurred, and we wanted to design pieces that allow our everyday champions to seamlessly transition from their family life to their professional life and even their workouts #nolimitjustU. No more constant changes of clothes. It's a more thoughtful way to buy clothes that won't just be worn once, for a single occasion.

Furthermore, high-quality fabric and construction mean clothing that lasts and stands the test of time. Buying less to buy better is also a way to act for the environment… without sacrificing style and elegance, of course!

Finally, we also offer a new way to purchase our products through a pre-order system. It's important to understand that for each collection, estimated stock levels are ordered, which are themselves linked to the minimum quantities a workshop agrees to produce. The resulting overstocking is a scourge for the environment, and to avoid it, we offer pre-orders, as we did for our flagship piece, the Ultimate Pants, and our Adventurer Swimsuit.

What is the principle? We offer you the concept of our product in advance through photos and videos, and you commit for a limited time (usually one month) by pre-ordering the product if you liked it.

This allows us to ensure you like the product and thus order the exact quantities needed for its production, avoiding harmful overstocking. We therefore want to involve you more and develop this sales system by offering it to you regularly for your enjoyment and with respect for the environment.

Thus, during these first 4 years, we have developed Noliju to create a brand that reflects who you are and that is committed to issues that are essential for the future.

We will continue to grow with the convictions that unite us and we thank you again for the support you give us every day.
