AND YOU, WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

ET TOI, QU’EST-CE QUE TU ÉCOUTES ?

4 AUDIO IDEAS FOR YOUR WORKOUTS

We all have our little habits when we do sports. An outfit, a way of styling our hair, a favorite spot depending on the time of day, a rhythm or a program that we like to adopt.

And amidst all these rituals, there's what we listen to. For a run, a bike ride, rollerblading, or even just a stroll, let's take a look back at our little audio habits… which are quite varied.

THE CLASSIC AND TIMELESS PLAYLIST

Whatever your physical activity, who hasn't ever plugged in their earbuds or headphones and started their workout? It's a great way to create a bubble around yourself and, for some, even to clear their head. You don't think about anything; you just let the music guide you. And for the more experienced, you can adapt the rhythm of your music to your goals and training program.

One drawback, however, is that you need to remember to update your playlist regularly so you don't get bored with it, and above all, choose your songs carefully. Inappropriate music can ruin the whole experience… even during a short walk!

Not feeling inspired to create your playlist? All music platforms like Spotify or Deezer offer playlists designed for sports. They'll be a great source of inspiration for creating your own.

CULTURAL AUDIOBOOKS

And why not take advantage of this relaxing or sporting moment to read? More and more apps now offer audiobooks. It's a great way to focus on something other than physical exertion and combine business with pleasure.
The choice of book is also very important. Unless you enjoy being scared, it might be wise to avoid dark novels at dusk, as well as slow-paced novels filled with all sorts of descriptions, during a high-energy activity!

Amazon's Audible, Audiolib, free trial, one-time purchase or subscription… there is a wide choice to discover or rediscover beautiful stories during your sport, walks or even simply in the car.

THE INTELLECTUAL PODCAST

Who hasn't downloaded a podcast (or several) thinking, "I'll take the time to listen to it"? And, more importantly, who hasn't actually done it?
What if an outing in the fresh air was the perfect opportunity to dust them off? Choose a lecture based on the length of your walk and off you go! Take the time to enrich your mind and get your body moving too: a perfect example of the saying "a healthy mind in a healthy body".

For diverse and varied topics, we think of TED and TEDx and their unmissable conferences.
IFM also offers podcasts more focused on fashion and culture.
Nouvelle école introduces you to all kinds of personalities "to get off the beaten track"... and these are just a few of the many options available!

SILENCE

And yes! Because for some, there's nothing better than not listening to anything in particular, simply letting themselves be carried away by the surrounding noise. It's often ideal for a brief moment of introspection, for making to-do lists, or simply for allowing their mind to wander here and there, to drift into daydreaming. In the heart of the city, it's also sometimes simply a matter of safety. It's much less risky to hear what's happening to the right and left.
