SUMMER RUNNING, PERFECT RUNNING!

With the sun finally making an appearance, and the days getting longer and longer, what could be more pleasant than a good run? Outdoors, you can enjoy the fresh air, push your limits, and savor the experience.

However, some basic rules should not be neglected to ensure a fun (and admittedly somewhat strenuous) sporting moment.

5 ESSENTIALS FOR RUNNING IN SUMMER!

1. YOU WILL RUN AT THE RIGHT TIMES

In our sometimes overly busy days, our runs often have to be squeezed in between other commitments! However, in summer, we mustn't underestimate the risks of running in the heat. Even though lunchtime is often the most convenient, it's generally recommended to avoid running during this time slot… especially in certain regions.

If you have no choice, if you wouldn't stop running for anything in the world, shaded places are the best defense against the scorching sun of midsummer.

The ideal time to run is still early morning, when the coolness of the night is still in the air and the sun has not yet reached its zenith; or in the evening, after a day of work to let off steam in a gentler warmth.

But no matter when you run, beware of heatstroke! Don't overestimate your strength and don't hesitate to stop.

2. DON'T FORGET TO STAY HYDRATED

Regardless of the time of day or season, hydration is always essential during your runs…of course. But summer is even more conducive to dehydration. Drinking before and during your run is the ABC of running, especially in the middle of summer.

Drinking regularly, even if you're not thirsty, is the safest option. So, bring your water bottle, with or without a belt, and for others, nothing beats a CamelBak!

3. YOU WILL WEAR THE CAP AND SUNGLASSES

To avoid sunstroke, to protect your face from the sun and to get some shade, a cap is an essential wardrobe accessory during our summer run.
It retains sweat and can refresh you by wetting it from time to time.

Furthermore, even when wearing a cap, don't neglect the importance of sunglasses. By protecting your eyes from the light, you'll reduce eye strain and say goodbye to headaches at the end of your run!

4. YOU WILL USE SUNSCREEN

While we readily slather on sunscreen to protect our skin at the beach, we sometimes forget that the sun isn't confined to the seaside but beats down everywhere. Who hasn't had reddened arms or face after an afternoon on a terrace?
And the same is true during our running sessions. While some times of day are more conducive to sunburn than others, it's important to apply sunscreen. Of course, this is to avoid sunburn and skin damage, but also for purely aesthetic reasons: tan lines from shorts, tank tops, or sports bras... they're not exactly attractive!

5. YOU WILL CHOOSE THE IDEAL RUNNING OUTFIT

For running in sweltering heat, opt for short outfits made of light, breathable fabrics: tank tops or sports bras and shorts or cycling shorts! The fabric Meryl Santorini , as fluid as silk, is the perfect fabric for this time of year. Combined with soft, loose-fitting cuts, you'll enjoy complete comfort and won't have to worry about overheating! The John and David set This is the perfect example of the outfit to adopt. Its blue color, its cut, its ultra-light material and the sheer back of the tank top make this outfit the perfect ally for your summer runs.

And to feel even lighter, it's even more comfortable to run in a sports bra to avoid layering and stay as cool as possible! The Manu sports bra is perfectly suited to this choice with its ultra-trendy print. And for those who are less tolerant of the heat, the Manu sports shorts are also available.  This could double as a pair of glamorous shorts. And when you're out running along the beach, don't hesitate to finish with a quick dip in the water. The fabric of this set is the same as that of the swimsuits ;).
