Introduce yourself in a few lines.
My name is Maude Sabourin. I am 30 years old and I am a professional dancer. I am also passionate about the world of fitness, which is why I also have a sports coaching diploma.
WHY DANCE AND WHAT DOES IT BRING TO YOUR DAILY LIFE?
I started dancing at the age of three. My mother enrolled me in a very small neighborhood school. My teacher immediately instilled in me her passion for dance. I loved to move! The more the years passed, the more dance became a part of me. It was a given. I couldn't imagine doing anything else in life but dancing. It's a profession that requires many sacrifices, but it brings so much joy that you can't live without it. It's a true passion!
I hear you travel a lot around the world, do you have any favorite countries or cities where you like to represent yourself?
I'm lucky enough to travel a lot for work. It's very enriching. All these experiences feed into my art! I don't know if I have a favorite country. I enjoy discovering other cultures, their customs, their styles, and so on. I love discovering the theaters where I dance. It's truly a privilege.
Do you practice other sports in parallel, for fun?
I train regularly alongside dance to improve my performance level. I do physical conditioning so my body is perfectly ready to meet all the demands of the profession. I also recently started kickboxing. I love it! It's an amazing escape! It's very interesting to learn the fighting tactics. It has nothing to do with dance, but that's precisely what piques my curiosity. When I'm in the ring, I know the coach in front of me is going to push me to reach limits I've never even imagined, and I get a real kick out of it!
WHY DID YOU WANT TO REPRESENT THE NOLIJU BRAND?
So, I became interested in Noliju initially because in dance, what we wear is incredibly repetitive! I really enjoy searching for brands that are different and stylish. Then, I looked into it further and saw that it's a French brand with all the pieces made in Europe! I think it's important to support local businesses! I love the designs, and the fabrics are so comfortable!
WHAT ARE YOUR AMBITIONS AS A NOLIJU AMBASSADOR?
My main goal is to show that, although it is primarily a brand for runners, Nolijuwear is completely suitable for all kinds of different disciplines, including dance!
Do you have a favorite item of clothing from the collections? Why?
I really love the whole collection, actually. For me, as a dancer, the fabric of the clothes is very important. Noliju feels like a second skin and follows my every movement, no matter what. That's exactly what I'm looking for.
