That's it, it's back to school! Especially for the children, because unless you're a teacher or have just returned from vacation, you may have been back at work for far too long for your liking!
But whether we like it or not, having a child means a change of plans from September onwards. And not having a child still means a return to more hectic life: crowds on the roads and public transport, the repopulation of racetracks and gyms, not to mention work, which tends to pick up again after the summer lull!
In short, like every year, we need to rearm ourselves, to prepare. So what can we do to keep (a little) of our summer relaxation?!
REGAIN A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE
Summer and its long days are always a call for reunions with friends: barbecues, drinks on the terrace that last forever, good meals with some and then others, and so on.
We get together, we eat and we drink because we all feel good together!
What if going back to school or work was a way to rebalance your healthy meal/boozy nights ratio? Is rosé as enjoyable without the atmosphere that goes with it? And are happy hours as fun in the crisp autumn air? Not so sure…
TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF
What if dad/a friend/grandparents/the nanny [delete as appropriate] looked after the children once in a while so you could enjoy some time off? To exercise, of course, but also to enjoy a moment of freedom just for you, with friends or as a couple?
A running session, a little massage, a movie session, a manicure, a little shopping, a nice restaurant, an exhibition, a girls' night out… the choice is vast.
As for your girlfriend, you just need to make sure you can reciprocate, so you can repeat the experience!
GETTING BACK INTO SPORT
With the heat gradually subsiding, running sessions become much more enjoyable! We swap the glass of wine for sneakers and head out for a run with friends after work or during our lunch break. And why not, if we're feeling adventurous, try a new activity: fit ballet, aqua stand-up, aeroboxing, or even catyoga 😉? (proving that anything is possible!) With all the classes starting up again in September, all we have to do is choose to complement our runs that we wouldn't give up for anything.
MAKE YOUR OWN BACK-TO-SCHOOL LIST
Back-to-school supplies are often a nightmare for parents. As a child, I enjoyed the idea of having new things: pens, notebooks, binders… I also got my back-to-school outfit: I LOVED that moment!
Why not rediscover the joy of novelty by making your own list: a new planner to manage a busy life, a new outfit for the office, that pretty bag for work, a new sportswear to give ourselves courage: all ideas can be good to take to reward us for the hell of going back to school.
DON'T FORGET ALL THE JOYS OF SUMMER, ANYWAY
It's definitely more complicated to have a barbecue in the rain, that's true! But friends are always there and the rosé is always available, so we treat ourselves every now and then, and "we'll go for a run tomorrow…". Learning to let go, relax, and stay zen is the key to a smooth transition back to work/school 😉
